Cigar Legislation: San Mateo County

San Mateo County, California Board of Supervisors has recently voted 4-1 to ban smoking in all areas in and around condominiums and apartments. Owners of buildings will now be required to post no smoking signs around properties, residents will be required at least 30 feet away from all buildings when smoking; this includes no smoking on balconies or patios.

The supervisors also voted unanimously to include electronic devices under the definition of tobacco and smoking products. The new ordinance which will take effect in approximately30 days will only include unincorporated areas of San Mateo County.
