Joya de Nicaragua Cuatro Cinco Reserva Especial Review

In 2013, Joya de Nicaragua commemorated their 45th year in business with the Cuatro Cinco Edicion Limitada: a 6×54 box pressed Nicaraguan Puro. The limited release of only 4,500 boxes of 10 cigars was much anticipated and they sold out rather quickly. Earlier this year, Joya de Nicaragua released a new line of the Cuatro Cinco: the Reserva Especial. This release currently offers 4 vitolas; none of which are identical to the original release of the 2013 Edicion Limitada. Although the Reserva Especial is the same base blend, Joya de…

Tatuaje CiGWAR 2015 (Short Review)

As you may know, Pete Johnson of Tatuaje Cigars introduced the CiGWAR last year during the annual GWAR B-Q. Pete has continued the tradition with a new release of the CiGWAR for 2015. Only 1,500 packs of 3 were released for 2015. The key difference in this year’s release, aside from the new artwork, is the use of an Ecuadorian Sancti Spiritus Maduro wrapper instead of the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper used in last year’s release. Vitola: Robsuto (5×50) Blend: Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sancti Spiritus Maduro Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Nicaraguan Construction: The…

Cigar Review: Crowned Heads Yellow Rose of Texas

Texas is a state rich in history and heritage.  We are proud of where we came from and what we stand for.  As many know we are a state that used to be our own country, we won our independence in 1836 and legend has it that we have the Yellow Rose of Texas to thank for that.  Our independence was won at the battle of San Jacinto where Texan forces attacked the Mexican army while their leader, Gen. Santa Ana, literally was caught with his pants down.  The story…
